Design Changes

Basically I intend to follow the plans. Now, my 190cm/100kg are making the cockpit very cozy. To have a plane better fitting my body I am planning the following design changes:

wide the fuselage by 6" to 8"
slightly smaller armrests, 9cm
Cozy Classic canopy, max. 40.4" wide, better shape above seats
canard and wing span changed accordingly
custom turtleback
custom engine cowl
heighten the fuselage tube by 2"
slightly longer nose to cover the wider and higher fuselage smoothly
removed fixed gear mounts
battery mount behind back seat row
Modify center spar and strakes for the RG

Special Devices

I intend to inherit the following non-standard devices. Some of them are not on the CO-Z Developemnt Corp. Authorized Supplier List.

Retractable Landing Gear

Oleo Strut Main Landing Gear

I think a high performance aircraft like the Cozy Mark IV should make usage of a complete RG, not a nose RG only. IMHO the additional weight and work is worth the higher performance. On the other hand we win a better place for the aircraft battery, down in the area where the standard fixed gear is mounted.

For the time I need the gear, I expect J.D. has ready his steerable / castering oleo nose strut. 11.5" diameter Lamb type and size tire that will lift a 2200 lb. GW aircraft with 4 people, full gas and baggage.

J.D. als makes a nice stick grip with customizable switches. Unique is the availability of a left and a right hand version, needed for the Cozy Mark IV.

Electric Nose Lift

When I would use the standard fixed landing gear Steve Wright's Noze-Lift would be the option of choice for my project. Probaly I might use this device if J.D. is not ready in time when I need my landing gear.
