  • SSIT Switzerland Chapter meeting

campaign for fair production of computers

The Swiss organizations Fastenopfer and Brot für Alle started a campain for fair working conditions in computer production heading
    «High Tech - No Rights?».

We all use computers every day. They have become mass products over the years. We all know that mass products come from the Far East, where there is an abundance of cheap work force. But do we simple accept that people are used like slaves to produce cheap products for us? How can we influence computer producers and their suppliers?

For this meeting I was able to invite Valérie Trachsel, working on the campain at Fastenopfer, to give an introduction. She will tell us about her work experience and discuss with us.

Please let Thomas Schmid know you come —
a room for 10-15 persons is reserved; soft drinks and some sandwiches will be provided, courtesy of IEEE Switzerland Section.
